Job Description:

The Office of Sustainability is looking for an individual to support the overall mission of the SUNY sustainability team, with a focus on supporting engagement with and among the campus network of sustainability stakeholders, current students, and prospective students. This position is responsible for oversight and growth of the SUNY Climate Corps internship program, as well as implementing a communications strategy for the overall SUNY sustainability program that demonstrates SUNY’s leadership in sustainability and provides students with opportunities to engage in sustainability programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, communications, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in program management, program development, or policy implementation with a sustainability or environmental theme.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to create and foster professional connections and build a network of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently when necessary, generating and following up on leads, anticipating project needs, and initiating own work, while also understanding appropriate times to seek guidance and authorization.
  • Willingness to pitch in and help on team projects.
  • Strong written, oral, and visual communications skills.
  • Use of Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the sustainability field.
  • Experience in program evaluation and/or strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of environmental and climate change issues.
  • Design, photography, and video creation and editing skills.
  • Skills in social media.
  • Web design.

Salary Range: $54,000 – $62,000 annually
