The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is seeking a candidate for the position of Resilience Outreach Specialist. The Resilience Outreach Specialist has knowledge of climate adaptation and coastal management issues and topics with proficiency in public engagement to support the HRPDC Coastal Resiliency Program in the areas of public outreach, education, and training on coastal resilience, floodplain management, and related issues. The Coastal Resiliency Program identifies and implements regional priorities for research, analysis, and policy development on issues related to resiliency and climate adaptation to support local government planning and implementation efforts. The Resilience Outreach Specialist will coordinate efforts related to flood insurance promotion and flood risk education and outreach and will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing new resilience-related activities and programs. Applicants must be able to develop and manage a comprehensive outreach and engagement program, including audience identification, development of outreach materials (including digital and print media), stakeholder and partner engagement, and program management.
