Morris Arboretum & Gardens of the University of Pennsylvania inspires an understanding of the relationship between plants and people through education, research, and horticultural displays. Located in the Northwest section of Philadelphia, the Arboretum is home to a collection of more than 13,000 woody plants and serves as a destination for plant enthusiasts and a hub for botany, horticulture, and urban forestry.

The Education Programs Assistant supports the Morris Arboretum & Gardens Education Department by assisting with program logistics, communications, and administrative systems across a range of educational offerings. Reporting to the Director of Education, this role plays a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of programs and a high-quality experience for participants and instructors.

This position has a primary focus on supporting the growth and operations of fee-based professional programs, including the Certificate in Ecological Horticulture and the School of Arboriculture. The Education Programs Assistant contributes to program coordination, enrollment support, and ongoing communication efforts, while also assisting across other areas of the Education Department as needed throughout the year.

Qualifications:

High School Grad/GE Degree and 5-7 years of comparable work experience, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.

Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, program-driven environment.

Experience supporting events, programs, or educational initiatives preferred.

Flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend programming.

Wage: $21.52 – $24.00 Hourly Rate
