Executive Director

Website Indiana Forest Alliance

The Indiana Forest Alliance (IFA) seeks an Executive Director who is passionate about saving
forests and has the leadership skills to guide the organization in its work to conserve and restore
forests across Indiana. IFA is a statewide, non-profit organization founded in 1996 dedicated to
the long-term health and well-being of Indiana’s native forests. We are primarily a volunteer
organization with paid staff, and seek an Executive Director who can organize and inspire IFA’s
volunteer base. IFA is also a science-based organization that conducts primary research
documenting the biodiversity of Indiana’s forests and relies on this and other scientific research
to support its advocacy for forest conservation and management. Thus, a good understanding of
forest ecology will be needed for the position.

We expect successful candidates to have a bachelor’s degree; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
Someone with significant fundraising and managerial experience and experience working with
environmental non-profits would be preferable. Most importantly, the preferred candidate must
be able to communicate effectively in speech and writing, work with legislators and other
officials effectively, and be persuasive with groups holding different political views. This is a
full-time, salaried position. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Applicants for the Executive Director position should email a cover letter and resume to Melody
Dunn, IFA Business Director, at melody@indianaforestalliance.org. Applications will be
accepted through September 18, 2026.
